Storage spaces have a way of becoming a black hole where everything ends up. The garage, attic, storage room or closet can slowly fill with holiday decorations, keepsakes, luggage, household supplies, and anything else that doesn’t have a home. And it can get overwhelming… and scary.
That’s where we come in.
At Cary Prince Organizing, we approach storage spaces the same way we approach any area of the home: with a clear plan and a system designed around what you actually own and use. The goal is for this to become a space you actually enjoy using – and not just run from.

Start Fresh
The first step is to take everything out. Yes, everything. Emptying the space gives us a chance to see exactly what’s been hiding in there and assess the storage area itself. It also allows us to start fresh rather than trying to organize around what has accumulated over time.
Nothing lurking in the back corner gets left behind.

Evaluate and Edit
Next, we sort everything into categories and work with you to decide what should stay. We identify duplicates, items that are no longer useful, and things that may be better donated, relocated or discarded.
And sometimes we uncover things you forgot you even had. No judgment – storage spaces have secrets.
This is also the time to think about how often you use something. Holiday decor might only come out once a year, while extra household supplies, luggage or sports equipment may need to be much easier to reach.

Create the Right Storage Solutions
Once we know what needs to go back into the space, we determine the best way to store it. Depending on the area, that might mean shelving, clear bins, baskets, drawers or other solutions that make better use of the available space.
We take into account what is being stored, how frequently you need it and where it makes the most sense for it to live. No more precarious towers of mystery boxes. The right storage products should support the system, not simply fill the space.
Label Everything
Labels are what help a newly organized storage space stay organized. Clearly identified bins and zones make it easy to find what you need without opening five boxes marked “MISC.” to find the one thing you’re looking for.
Just as importantly, labels make it clear where things belong when it’s time to put them away. Mystery solved.

Fine-Tune the Space
Once everything is back in place, we fine-tune the system. Frequently used items are kept within easy reach, seasonal or rarely used pieces can go higher or farther back, and related items are grouped together.
The goal isn’t simply to make your storage space look organized. It’s to create a system that makes it easier to find what you need, put things away and make the most of the space you have.
The scary storage space? Gone. In its place: a functional, organized space you can actually walk into without fear.
So if opening the garage, attic or storage closet feels a little scary, don’t be afraid to call in the professionals. We’ve got you.
Bring Harmony Home.
