Hi, I'm Cary.

MEET THE TEAM

With summer approaching, we’ve been organizing a lot of garages lately. Garages tend to become the catchall for everything that doesn’t quite have a place inside the house, and they can get out of hand quickly.

The key to garage organizing is getting items off the ground and giving everything a designated home. But when your garage is essentially an empty space, that can be tough without the right systems in place.

Here are three systems we turn to again and again to keep garages organized and dare we say, gorgeous:

A Fab “After”: Husky Shelving with weathertight totes in a client’s garage.

1. Industrial Shelves

For garage organizing, we love metal shelving systems like Metro Commercial Industrial Shelves and the Husky Shelving Unit. Metro shelves come in a variety of sizes to fit your space and don’t need to be attached to the wall, which makes them especially flexible. Husky shelving is terrific for heavier items like tools and camping gear. Both are sleek, sturdy, and surprisingly cool looking for a garage, and with open shelving makes it easy to grab and go.

Weathertight totes add another level of organization. We especially love using them to contain smaller items like seasonal decor, household backstock, and sports equipment.

2. Customizable Wall Storage

If you prefer a more built-in look, Elfa systems are a great option. These wall-mounted systems can be customized to fit your space and are especially helpful for maximizing vertical storage while keeping floor space open. They tend to work particularly well for families storing a mix of household overflow, tools, sports gear, and gardening supplies. The overall look feels clean and streamlined.

All smiles as the team installs Elfa shelving.

“We love installing Elfa solutions wherever storage is needed and vertical wall space can be maximized. It optimizes the storage potential of any space, and helps you get items off the floor — the secret of every organized garage!”

3. Slatwalls

A slatwall panel system like the Gladiator GearWall is a fantastic option for flexible, heavy-duty storage. Slatwalls allow you to easily hang and rearrange hooks, baskets, shelves, and accessories depending on your household’s needs.

As Daniel on our team put it:

“The reason why slatwalls are such a great storage solution to consider for garages is their versatility and flexibility. One year your children might be into scooters and bikes, the next year they may take up tennis. Slatwalls will continue to grow as your family needs change, rather than constantly drilling new holes into your walls each and every time.”

We especially love slatwalls for bulky or awkward items like bikes, sports equipment, ladders, and gardening tools. They free up valuable floor space and make frequently used items easier to access.

A well-organized garage doesn’t just look great. It makes daily life easier. Whether you’re pulling out beach chairs for the weekend, finding sports gear before practice, or simply trying to park your car in the garage again, good systems make a huge difference.

If your garage needs some TLC and you’d like help, we’re always here for you.
